UAE becomes third country to approve Foundayo for type 2 diabetes

The Emirates Drug Establishment has approved Lilly's oral GLP-1 Foundayo (orforglipron) for adults with type 2 diabetes, making the UAE the third country to clear it for that use. The UAE had already approved Foundayo for weight management in April. In the UK it remains a private weight-loss option, with NICE guidance expected in January 2027.
