Volunteer with The Dose Club

Help run The Dose Club

Keeping the community safe and the prices and articles accurate takes people. Volunteers do part of that work alongside the staff team, and each role below says what it involves and roughly how long it takes.

Moderator

You read reports from members and the posts the filters held for review, then decide under the published community rules whether each one stays up, comes down or goes to staff.

Time: A few hours a week in short sessions, so that reports are answered within 24 hours.

We look for calm judgement and a good knowledge of the community rules. Some posts touch on eating and body image, so you need to know when to point someone to Beat.

Article writer

You write explainers and news in the article editor. Each piece is saved as a draft, and staff check it against the editorial standards before they publish it.

Time: One article every few weeks. Most take a few hours, including the reading behind them.

We look for clear, plain English and comfort citing NHS, MHRA and NICE sources. Articles are reviewed before they are published and never give dose advice.

Price checker

You take prices that members reported or the collector flagged, check each one on the pharmacy website and tell staff what the site shows.

Time: An hour or two a week.

We look for care with figures. The figure to check is the complete monthly cost, with consultation and delivery fees included.

Room host

You welcome new members to one room, start discussions and point people to the rules. Hosts report problems and moderators act on them.

Time: A short visit most days, or a few longer ones a week.

We look for a friendly manner and regular activity in the room you would like to host.

Apply

Applications need a Dose Club account, so we can reply and, if we go ahead, give your account the access your role needs. The account must have confirmed you are 18 or over.
