Ireland: HSE told to consider public funding for Wegovy despite EUR 4.4bn cost
Ireland's National Centre for Pharmacoeconomics found Wegovy cost-effective and advised the HSE to consider reimbursing it, while warning the budget impact would be substantial, around EUR 4.4 billion over five years for up to one million people. It judged Wegovy more cost-effective than Mounjaro, which is more effective but was pricier when assessed.
