Greater Manchester NHS: Wegovy approved for heart-risk patients, Wegovy pill not prescribable
Greater Manchester's NHS medicines group has approved Wegovy injections under NICE TA1152 for adults with established cardiovascular disease and a BMI of at least 27, started by specialists and then handed to GPs. The oral Wegovy pill, licensed by the MHRA in June 2026, is not available for NHS prescribing in the area.
