A pharmacist highlights a Clinical Nutrition study that found 15 reports of Wernicke's encephalopathy, caused by severe thiamine shortage, linked to GLP-1 medicines, mostly semaglutide or tirzepatide. Many cases involved heavy vomiting or very low intake; the reports do not prove the drugs caused them, but new confusion, poor balance or odd eye movements need urgent care.
