The leaflet covers storage: the fridge temperature range, not freezing the pen, and how long a pen can be kept out of the fridge once it is in use. It does not cover airport security, airlines, hotel fridges or long drives, so this thread is for that side. What do you pack, what have you been asked to show, and what would you do differently next time?
Two things to check before you go: how long your pen can be out of the fridge according to your leaflet, and whether your trip is longer than that. If it is, the conversation is with your pharmacist. Ask your pharmacy whether it will provide a letter for the airline.
If you use a cool pouch, the leaflet point that matters is not freezing the pen, so a gel pack that is cool and not frozen, with something between it and the pen.
