Questions you wished you had asked at the first consultation

accountsDose Club staffNew member

The first consultation goes quickly and the questions arrive afterwards. What do you wish you had asked? A few to begin the list: how repeat orders work and how far ahead to place them, what happens if a delivery is late on your injection day, who to contact out of hours and whether side effects should go to the pharmacy or your GP, and how a price change applies to an order already placed.

Add how the prescriber wants side effects reported between appointments: a message through their portal, a call, or a summary at the next review. The symptom log in the app can be exported as a PDF for exactly that.

Ask who the prescriber is and whether it is the same person each time. The pharmacy's GPhC registration number is on its provider page here, and the register itself is at https://www.pharmacyregulation.org.

Keep the answers you are given somewhere you can find them. The notes field in the app works, and so does the confirmation email.
